Privacy & data notice

How Simon Bond Education collects, uses and protects the information you share through this site. Plain English — no dark patterns.

Last updated · June 2026

This is a draft notice for design purposes. The final wording should be reviewed before launch — but the structure below covers what a personal education practice acting as a data controller needs.

01Who's responsible

Simon Bond Education (“Simon”, “I”, “we”) is the data controller for personal information collected through this website. For any data question, email hello@simonbond.education.

02What I collect, and when

  • Contact enquiries. When you use the contact form, I collect your name, email, optional organisation, and your message.
  • Podcast guest applications. When you apply to debate a statement, I collect your name, email, short bio, any links you share, and the stance and statement you selected.
  • Basic technical data. Standard server and security logs (e.g. IP address) needed to keep the site running and to prevent spam and abuse.

I don't collect anything you don't actively send me, and there are no advertising or tracking cookies on this site.

03Why I'm allowed to (lawful basis)

  • Consent. For contact enquiries and guest applications, I rely on the consent you give by ticking the box and submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • Legitimate interests. For security logging and spam prevention, to keep the site and everyone's data safe.

04How I use it

To reply to your enquiry, to consider and arrange podcast guest appearances, and to keep the site secure. I will never sell your data, and I won't add you to a marketing list without asking.

05Where it's stored & who can see it

Form submissions are processed by the site's hosting platform and stored in its database, within Simon's own account — not handed to a third-party form service. A notification email is sent to Simon so he can respond. These providers act as data processors on my instructions.

Access is limited to Simon. Data is not shared with anyone else unless I'm legally required to.

06How long I keep it

Enquiries are kept only as long as needed to deal with them and any follow-up, then deleted. Guest applications are kept while a series is being planned and removed once they're no longer relevant. You can ask me to delete yours sooner.

07Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or export your data, or object to how it's used. Email hello@simonbond.education and I'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
